German DJ Collective, Innovators of Soulful Brokenbeat
Nestled in the depths of Mainz, Germany, lies a hidden gem that has been making waves in the underground music scene. SoulParlor, boasts a low ceiling, a booming sound system, and a unique atmosphere that has caught the attention of many renowned DJs and music enthusiasts. According to Benji B of BBC Radio 1's Deviation, "Someone told me it is called SoulParlor. I went to see for myself and all I can say is that you should too."

The trio (Frank Jensen, Frank Lotz, and Tobias Müller), have left their mark across the globe with their music. From Germany to Philadelphia, New York, London, and Berlin, SoulParlor's own releases, remixes, and long-time club residencies in the Rhine-Main area have garnered much attention.
Music Productions and Remix-Requests
SoulParlor has garnered success not only with their music productions but also with their DJ bookings. They have toured with Atjazz, Swag, and Rasoul in Canada and Germany, and have received remix requests from famous names such as Juan Atkins, Oscar, and Gammat 3000.
The Comeback: More Fresh Ideas and Power
After taking a short break and reorienting themselves in the post-vinyl music scene, SoulParlor came back with even fresher ideas and power. They signed with Domu for his “Here Comes Treble” Compilation on Treble O with their forward-thinking Brokenbeat Joint “Gee,” which was a big hit at the legendary CO-OP Club night in London.
Collaborations and Successes
Other notable achievements for SoulParlor include a remix of James Brown on the well-known label GAMM, two 5-track EPs of soulful and jazzy Brokenbeat released in 2008 and 2009 on the New York-based label “Bagpak Music,” and a contribution to Jazz singer Cecilia Stalin’s (Koop) solo project, which also includes works by Daz-I-Kue (Bugz in the Attic).
Signing with Tokyo Dawn Records
In 2010, SoulParlor was signed by “Tokyo Dawn Records” for their upcoming second album “Evoluzion” (Release May 2011) featuring guest artists like Replife, Cecilia Stalin, Yannah Valdevit, Colonel Red, Oddisee, Stan Steam, Caits Meissner, Jacob (ex Wagner Love) plus additional Remixes by Dego (2000black/4hero), Afronaut & MdCL, Daz-I-Kue, Opolopo, Pure P, and Souled.
Versatile Music Production and DJ-Sets
Their musical production and DJ-sets range from Brokenbeat and soulful twisted House to tasty UK-Funky/Garage sounds, terrific Dubstep, jazzy types of Drum&Bass, and well-selected Hip-Hop & Nu-Soul. Currently, they are working on tracks for Stan Steam's forthcoming album “Get Up Movement” and with Replife on his second LP. With their diversity in music, SoulParlor is a group that is sure to impress any audience.
